Wanted: Experienced Child Care Provider
We Love Our Kids
Takoma Park Presbyterian Church seeks experienced childcare providers for Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. We have several infants and children up to 5 years of age.
The pay is negotiable but starts at $26/hour.
We are looking for two childcare providers. You will be paid regardless of whether or not there are any children in the nursery. By the same token, you must be at the church on Sundays for the entire period which is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Responsibilities
Ensure that there is a nursery each Sunday. Remain in the nursery during the time of church services, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, even if no children are present.
Ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for young children, an environment in which they experience the security of God’s love.
Develop the trust of parents who leave their children in the nursery.
Provide a warm welcome for new families with young children.
Notify one of the Christian Education Committee Co-Chairs or Parent Liaison of any problem areas or needs.
Ensure that, on leaving, the room used for the nursery is in the same condition as it was found (ready for use by the Child Development Center) and the door is locked.
Accountability
The childcare providers shall report to and be under the general supervision of the Christian Education Committee Co-Chairs in collaboration with the church’s Personnel Committee. The childcare providers are expected to arrange for coverage so that two people are working if she/he is sick or otherwise unable to work on a particular Sunday.
