Takoma Park Presbyterian Church is located at the
corner of Tulip and Maple Avenues in the middle of the historic district
of Takoma Park. Takoma Park is a suburb of Washington, DC known for its
artists, musicians, and activists. The current sanctuary, built in 1922,
is a massive stone structure with a beautiful archway entrance, and large
stained glass windows.
From the Capital Beltway:
take the New Hampshire Avenue exit (#28) to Takoma Park (south on New Hampshire);
go about three miles on New Hampshire and turn right onto Ethan Allen Avenue (Rt. 410);
at the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Station keep straight onto Carroll Avenue;
go about 2/10 of a mile past the fire station and take a right onto Tulip Avenue;
the church is three blocks down on the right (at Maple Avenue).
From the Takoma Metro Station:
walk north-east on Carroll (past the 7-11) for two blocks;
go left at the intersection of Carroll and Maple;
the church is one block on the right (at the intersection of Maple and Tulip).
Also from the Takoma Park Metro Station, the number 25 Ride-On bus goes right by the
Takoma Park Presbyterian Church; access the Ride-On website for a route map and bus schedule.
