At the same time that this is going on, but entirely separately and on a longer timetable, the Social Witness and Action Committee will be starting a review of all our SWAC ministries. Congregational participation will be actively sought.
The discernment process about Jinocuao and Kairos opened the discussion within Session about the purposes of mission at TPPC, the kinds of missions we believe are important and similar questions. This is an energizing and important topic to which SWAC and Session hope the congregation will bring ideas, enthusiasm and willingness to work. One major goal is to broaden participation in and commitment to our church's social witness and action.
It should be noted that if being in a "sister parish" type of relationship is felt to be essential but Jinocuao is not to be a continuing ministry, this process would open up consideration of whether and how to establish this kind of relationship elsewhere.
