Youth Director Emily Welty

Emily Welty holds the position of Youth Director at TPPC. Emily has worked with teens in a number of settings. A few of these are:

counseling group for child survivors of domestic violence in Michigan;
working with Protestant youth in Belfast;
a social justice group called Sisters in Spirit on campus at The College at Wooster;
Student Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian from 1997 to 2000.

In Michigan, Emily developed and taught an anti-violence curriculum in middle and high schools. In 2003, she lived in Hebron/West as part of the Christian Peacemaker Team.

She is currently enrolled at American University in the Master's program for Peace Studies. Emily has also been named by Presbyterians Today magazine as one of the top 40 young Presbyterians in the USA. This article is available online.
